Week 41 - Challenger (€64,000+H): Rennes Open - Rennes, France (hard) - doubles

The Skupskis return to the fray after a week's rest.

R1:  Flavio Cipolla & Jan Hajek (ITA/CZE) CR 722 vs Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 205
R1:  (4) Oliver Marach & Florin Mergea (AUT/ROU) CR vs Jamie Delgado & Jordan Kerr (AUS) CR 233 cry

The pairs are in opposite quarters of the top half of the draw, so would meet in the semi-final, were they to survive the first two rounds.  The top seeds are Booty & Raven Klaassen.

Sorry, yes, of course QF.   Getting a bit ahead of myself, conceivably because the quarter-final matches in the other quarters of both halves of the draw have already been decided.  My only excuse:  I was at work at the time & allegedly working...

When I return to work after a holiday or even just a day off, you'd be surprised!  Sometimes I do & sometimes I don't... wink

Not looking too clever at the moment.  The brothers spurned 2-3 break points in the fourth game & were then broken to 30 themselves in the next.  Hope they don't live to regret it:  *2-4. hmm

The boys (or one of them, at any rate!) double-fault on break point to hand the wily Frogs an early break in the second.  1-2* cry  Danger, danger...
