I don't think Cox and Milton being in the US has anything to with the LTA.
Yes, I agree - from all the LTA stuff, and Leon and Martin Weston and Julien et al, you never hear anything about Cox or Milton as part of the LTA group (whereas you do hear about some of the other younger players who are not on the Aegon list and Ed Corrie has, I seem to remember, been involved too).
As mentioned before, I'm assuming that Dan C. would not in any way want to change his non-LTA funded status this year either because in that case he would not be entitled to all the top-up bonuses (which have been pretty mega for him).
And I expect Leon will be watching the college boys but not sure about 'watching over' - they may well have their own (shared) coaches and hitting partners etc. etc.
However, Leon seems such a likeable, able and approachable guy that I'm sure he'll tread the fine line very well.

I'm not sure if this a new phenomena or not, but the LTA seem to be promoting overseas training camps based around tournaments in the area.
Obviously there are quite a few Brits in California at the moment(most would not normally have gone out) and it looks like the younger lot have something similar out in Israel for the next couple of weeks.
Anyone know if this is a new strategy? Seems to be a good idea
I wonder if they will promote it to some of the lesser or non funded 10K tournament guys and girls and throw in some camps around the Greek, Turkish or Egyptian tournaments, which seem to be fairly popular.
Certainly nothing new. They normally go out on clay with massive qualifying draws or/and ridiculously tough draws so you have to work really hard on your least favorite surface to get any points.

Good digging - they were well before my time on this board.
Not seen this happen this year, so it may be something the LTA have reviewed and decided to instigate.
Certainly seems successful in California for Evo, Josh M and Dan C - next week in the 15K may provide some more clues. I'm sure Leon Smith will be watching over the college boys as well. There are a few on the list for the 15K.
Yes, when I was one who originally thought that Leon being out in California could be a good idea, largely because there were so many other Brits there apart from Evo ( and I wasn't even considering college guys ), some folk said - but ah, they will have their own coaches etc.
I personally only ever really meant "watching" as opposed to "watching over" / helping coach. That I do think could still be more than a little useful, and even if he had seen some streamed matches, I am sure he can pick up much more by being there.
