In the doubles, Dave and Sean have won the first set 7-6 against Mick Lescure and Medy Chettar (both of France).

The British lads really should/must win this match - it's not a hard one. Which will at least put them in the SF (where they should end up against the number 1 seeds, Cluskey and Mirzadeh).

Given dave's singles draw, they need to clock up some success in the doubles.

I think Dave and Sean's doubles exploits need to be aimed at 15K tournaments for now to get the winning run back. They have had little or no success at challenger level recently.

yes. It's been really skinny pickings . . .

But I liked steven's response to Sean :

  1. France $15,000+H. Got a bye but played our quarters today and won today 6 and 3. Sunday final here so could play semi on Saturday #badschedj

    Steven @GBtennis 41m
  2. @seanthornley31 Sounds like a week to be glad it's a +H!

These French futures never have full doubles draws for some strange reason.

Top 150 doubles players : GB 10, France 8

Top 150 singles players : GB 1, France 16

That's a killer stat that needs to be tweeted, perhaps ...

Really high standard tournament for a futures, but that i'm guessing is due to only one challenger in Europe and it was one of the bigger challengers.

This compatres to the 15K in US next week where Ed will be top seed and the likes of Dan S will be seeded.

That and the fact that this is a 15K+H so you would expect it to have a good field.

Dave broke back but ended up losing the 1st set 6-4. He is holding his own in the 2nd and has just got the first break of the set - he will serve for it at 4-6 *6-5
