Can James find some form? Would be nice to see him put a run together here

Jankovits hit a career high 378 a year ago, so can't have had a great 12 months since. However, he reached the semis of Spain F30 in Madrid last week and hadn't had to move far - Getafe is very near Madrid, if I remember right.

Oh dear!
Yes, but no surprise unfortunately. There was no point posting it because it just sounds nasty but a betting man wouldn't have put a penny on James over Yannick if they'd seen James last week.
I seem to remember someone saying that James was injured last year (?) but he's played a lot, was OK-ish in Israel and Qatar with one good tournament (and a couple of OK ones) but has had the most awful summer, losing to a whole heap of players ranked so much lower, barely winning a match. It must be hard for him to know what to do for the best.
Add: out posts crossed steven. Yes, Yannick has won about 70 matches this year (not all at international level obviously but it all helps and even the top money tournaments he's played and done well in have had other national level players). And James' results have certainly been consistent.

but looking at Jankovits' career high and how he did last week and then comparing that with James's recent form, it would have been a big (and nice) surprise if the Frenchman hadn't won.
I'm not saying that against James, with whom I sympathise (as someone who by all accounts tries his best, albeit without knowing exactly what is holding him back), I just don't see it as a new low or anything like that - the result is entirely consistent with the recent form of both.

I don't think its a new low either; simply more of the same poor form. I really thought James had something a bit "extra" when I saw him play last year - wonder what the issue is?
I had a chat with one of his mates a couple weeks ago...injury problems, family issues - mum in hospital, decided to train in Barcelona in August, trying his best and no results since he won his first future in May. Maybe time to forget it all and start again. All the best to him.
