It's never too early to start dreaming about next year
I haven't worked it all out (partly because it's impossible to get it spot on without knowing all the DC rankings for the last 4 years, partly because some ties haven't finished yet and partly because the rankings are likely to be out tomorrow so it's not worth doing too much (guess)work on them) but I think the 8 seeds will probably come from the following 9 countries, with KAZ perhaps most likely to miss out:
1 CZE, 4 ARG, 5 FRA (we would play them at home)
2 SRB, 3 ESP, 6 USA (we would play them away)
7 CAN, 8 KAZ (venue would be decided by lot)
Edit: added in exact seedings for the potential opponents and removed Italy (who were edged out of 8th place by Kazakhstan) from my original 9 possibilities.

As per the other thread, if Andy plays I would think we would only be underdogs in 3 prospective ties.
Away to each of Serbia, USA and Spain. Very much underdogs if they play their best teams, most especially to Serbia and Spain.
Well right now Canada holds a 2-1 lead over Serbia, Raonic is currently on serve with Djokovic at the end of the first set. I still would expect Serbia to come through though...

Be another decent carrot for @Evo151216 if Britain drew a home tie and staged it in the NIA in Birmingham in February, Evans' home
Lets see. A Davis cup tie staged for Evo's benefit at a venue that is around 200 yards from Broad Street, a half mile road of almost nothing but nightclubs and bars. What could possibly go wrong

Away to the USA would be winnable as on recent form Querrey would be vulnerable to either Evo or Ward if they play well and the Bryan's, while obviously, very good are not invincible.

agree but I give Andy and Colin a better chance than Colin and Ross
Looking at how many ranking points we get for beating a top 15 team away in a WGPO (1312.50, more than doubling our previous total!), I'm beginning to wonder if some of the other play-off results might produce more movement in the rankings than I first thought, but I still think 8 from those 9 I listed are the most likely seeds.

I think the ideal for next year ( well next ideal after winning the whole thing, which we won't ) may be say win at least one World Group round so we retain our World Group status then get seen off away to either Spain or Serbia.
Then we come back hopefully stronger the next year with any repeat of that Spain or Serbia tie now a home tie.
If say Evo and / or Kyle can really come on, we should be stronger after next year, will be able to beat the large majority of teams home or away, but getting Spain or Serbia as a potential home tie would help too.
So the Aussie Open final is Sun 26th Jan and Davis Cup starts five days later generally on the other side of the world. Doesn't give the finalist any prep time or time to get over jet lag.

Poor planning.
There used to a be a week gap after the Grand Slams before playing the Davis Cup ties but it was changed after lobbying from Nadal and a few other players.
