Cox, Pauffley, Willis, Farquharson, Marsalek, Bloomfield, Burton, Carpenter, Broady, Ward-Hibbert, Coupland, Martin, Malik, Carter and Orton should all be in the main draw. Wild cards are probably from Jhun, Hutt, Peniston Hoyt and Porter all of whom were on the entry list but not in the qualifying draw. (Jhun might have sneaked in as a DA if there was a late withdrawal).
Qualifying draw has just two ranked players. Ed Corrie as a wild card and Itzstein (AUS). Only 34 players in the 48 man draw so just 2 first round matches.

Well I'd hoped that Ed Corrie would switch his focus from clay court challengers to hard court challengers to revive his form on a surface which actually suited his tennis - but this wasn't the move I had expected at all............
While it wasn't what we expected it is probably a good move. A couple of week's playing futures to get some wins under his belt and to rebuild his confidence before having another crack at challengers, this time on hard courts.
MD complete, poor JWH will face Dan Cox again in second round if they both win R1 matches.

Poor old (young) JWH. He must be sick of the sight of Dan C !! I honestly think that had he served out last week, he could have gone on to win the tournament,
Don't expect Dan Cox is dead chuffed to come up against JWH either ! He's comes very close to losing both times - far closer really than against anyone else.
NB see that Liam and Marcus will meet again in the second round too, all going according to plan.
And that Neil has come back to home shores . ..
