Just realised that the player Cam double bagelled is aged 40 - he had his first go at Futures qualifying at this event last year ... and got double-bagelled in his first match there too. Full marks for giving it a go though!

The two Brits in the main draw just missed each other (slots 20 & 21) and avoided the seeds ... but got pretty awful draws anyway.

L32: Luke Bambridge WR 859 v Brayden Schnur (CAN) WR 824 (CH 805 last month) - H2H 1-0
L32: (Q) Cameron Norrie WR 1346 v Sascha Zverev (GER) WR 810 (CH 783 in Jun) - H2H 0-1

A top 30 junior earlier this year, Schnur was the winner of last week's 15K in Calgary, upsetting Polansky and Bester in the SFs and Final. He also reached the Final in Kelowna last month, beating Peliwo on the way. However, Luke thrashed him 1 & 2 in juniors (on clay) in France last year and Jonny beat him in junior Wimbledon qualies.

Current junior no. 2 (after winning the Trofeo Bonfiglio and reaching the Roland Garros boys' Final), Zverev beat Cameron 3 & 5 at Roehampton this year and also beat Luke to reach the final of a Futures event in Bradenton last year.

However, onto a slightly younger player this time (a mere slip of a thing at age 20) and Cameron is into a third set.

Jonny's loss is a bit of a shocker at first sight but it turns out that Juneau hit a career high 1056 last year after qualifying for the Granby Challenger, albeit from a very kind draw and is one of the top players for Indiana University, so didn't play any Futures (or Challengers) between the end of last September and late June.

Jonny also perhaps hasn't shaken the cobwebs off yet post-injury.

I prefer it when the week numbers are shown, too. Better than opening a thread and not being sure whether it is about a tournament that is current, future or even past! I have altered a couple of them to show the week numbers but I am a bit busy at the moment and perhaps haven't seen all of them. :)
