I thought I recognised both names so was surprised to see that neither of them were in the top 1000. Dornbusch actually has a career high of 586 set in 2011 but his QR1 match will be his first since retiring from a match in Stuttgart a year and a half ago.
Kretschmer hit a career high of 316 in 2010 but is now a (top 200) doubles specialist - Alex won a desperately close match against him in Opava in 2011, 7-6(3) 3-6 7-6(8)!

Not seen Alex play before, but it's not what I expect of some one ranked in the low 300's and pushing player ranked much higher. Very circumspect service action.
I'll put it down to two weeks out but, agree with paulisi, not impressive. He upped the intensity a little towards the end and played a fair bit better. But rather flat-footed and uninspired overall.
Some consolation for Alex, perhaps - he has returned to his singles career high (337) which he first set 18 months ago.
Or maybe not any consolation after all - he's probably rather have taken it out properly before his September points come off (he may yet do so of course)

Watching some of the doubles (nice stream from the tournament) - Alex playing a LOT better than he did yesterday - maybe he's not an early Sunday morning sort of man . . . very close though . . .
