Oh no I thought the Romanian's resistance would have been broken by the last 4 games of the 2nd set.

James must have had a nightmare, but it's worth noting that even though Tatomir lost to Jamie Malik on grass in Roehampton last week, he upset top 20 junior Nicolas Jarry in R1 at Roland Garros juniors after qualifying there.

James must have thought he was in with a very good chance of winning this tournament though.

The Roumanian served for the match at 5-3 but James just about managed to break. And then just about managed to hold his serve.

5-5 in the second . . .

Maybe the youngster had a wobble. Maybe James played better. But james wins the second 7-5. You'd think the third set should be James' now . . .

Yes, and the day only got worse for James:

Andrea CECCARELLO (ITA) / Teodor Nicolae MARIN (ROU)  won   7-6(3) 4-6 [10-3]   versus  James MARSALEK (GBR) / Francois-Arthur VIBERT (FRA) [3]

I suspect Marzi isn't match fit yet given he has been out a while. It normally takes 3-4 weeks to get back to full fitness - Ask Oli G
