A miserable day for Sab, who can't get anything going at all this year.

Another point for Laura will mean another CH.
If she matches her seeding, and gains 4 points, she has an outside chance of dipping under 800.

R2: Laura DEIGMAN (GBR) 859 [8] vs. (Q) Barbora STEFKOVA (CZE) 1060 (CH: 1058 last week - 18yo winning a round or two in a $10K most weeks this year)

Interesting idea about the heat. Laura is quite pale skinned, not Anna Smith levels, but still, it might well be a factor.

She worked hard in the second set though. Laura got back to *2-3, conceded another break, 2-4*, responded with her own break, *3-4 then had 3 or 4 points to level it up, but was eventually broken again. 3-5*

R2: Laura DEIGMAN (GBR) 859 [8] lost to (Q) Barbora STEFKOVA (CZE) 1060 5-7 3-6

Laura was well ahead on points, and served for the first set at *5-4 but was broken, and has gone on to lose 6 straight games, whilst barely winning a single point
Strange turn around.
5-7 *0-3

It's 37-39 degrees today in Egypt, depending on which weather report you use, and now just before midday. Not sure whay anyone would choose to play in Egypt in June....but it wouldnt surprise me if Laura is wilting, given this is her first tournament on this trip...

Both these girls rankings don't really reflect the true picture. We have unranked juniors that would win against them particularly Sabrina with ease.

I'd like to argue with you, but in the latter's case at the moment (though perhaps not in the past if one is charitable) it's probably true
