Trying to watch 3 streams and the live scores all at once. I'm blaming the fact that Joko's court looks more like the one Dive Rice was playing on than Laura's.

Bally is 4-3 up on Doi at the moment. Just started watching the stream, so not sure how she's playing...

Elena had 3 BP's at 40-0* to go 4-1, but they all disappeared, and we were back on serve, but, Bally just broke again.

Bally being a lot more patient than sometimes is the case, prepared to play several extra shots to produce a proper opportunity.
Playing well, especially in return games, and there is very little between them.

*4-3

Bally saves a BP with a deft dropshot and manages to hold.

Bally 5-3*

More BPs for Doi, but Bally holds on thanks to a mixture of errors from her opponent and some solid play from the Scot

Nice win. Often came under pressure, but had the answers and saw Doi off quite comfortably.

Bally working her way back in to the swing of things with each match.

Emily took the first set off Noppawan, so they might meet in R2.

Yes,, nice win.

Elena wasn't moving great (never her strongest point) but lovely depth on her ground shots and smart defensive play when needed, giving herself a bit more time to get back into position.

Pleased for her.

Well done Bally. I have found it incredible recently to read thoughts that Bally ( generally lumped in with Anne K ) didn't deserve a Wimbledon MDWC.

Come on Emily !
