RE: Week 23 - ITF $75k - Nottingham, UK - Grass

I thought they'd let in someone with an annoying small, yappy dog when I first started listening ... then it turned out the short high-pitched barks are coming from Majeric ... who is now a set and a break up

3 breaks to start the 2nd set.

The Scottish umpire seems to be getting her own back in the annoying noises stakes, by insisting on pronouncing the Slovenian's name "Ma-GE-rick" (I'm virtually certain it should be MY-er-ich)

Which is unusual because a well spoken Scottish accent pronounces English words correctly more than any other English speaking accent. (including English ones)

Well, she would be perfect for pronouncing the names Madge and Eric wink but not so hot with a Slovenian one.

5 breaks in a row to start the 2nd set too. Goodness knows how Tara is managing not to win this, it's very frustrating to watch

bet365 have got Tara down as the top seed! I wonder how that affects playing odds!

Tara breaks to love (the 13th break in 19 games) so will serve for the 2nd set

She gets broken back, somewhat inevitably, but breaks again to take the 2nd set 5-7 6-4

1 set all. Tara by far the better player on the day.

And the obligatory toilet break taken, of course, by the woman who just lost the second set.....clearly losing a second set after winning a first set has an almost uncanny bladder reaction among women players ranked about 75-300. Cheating, no. Blatant gamesmanship, yes.

Well done Tara. Its tougher than it needs to be, but I hope she can pull through now. Majeric isn't coping with the slice, so I think mixing it up between the flat and slice is working well (especially on the forehand side).

Majeric didn't look like she wanted to be there when she was winning. Now she's looks like she's chewing a wasp.

This match is completely in Tara's hands... lets hope she can keep up the form shown in the latter part of set 2!

Majeric always looks like that, on every surface, even when winning.

Seems like both girls have decided to hold serve in this set rather than constantly break serve.
