Eastbourne Logistics

Another thread, 2 in a day.

I'm seriously thinking about extending my trip to Eastbourne this year in fact I've already booked a hotel close to the venue, could cancel it nearer the time.

Does anybody have any experience of this venue ?

For instance can you buy tickets on the day or does it sell out in advance ?

Are there car parking facilities and what do they cost ?

How expensive are the tickets in general ?

Just generally what are the positives and negatives about going to stay and watch tennis at Eastbourne.

It's a lovely venue, although always seems to be windy!!

You can buy tickets on the day...i'm sure the website has all the details.

No car park as I remember and on street parking is limited

It's easy to wander round the outside courts and get close to the players

i actually live in eastbourne phil, when im not at uni, lovely place, and tickets dont sell out to my recolection, only on the final few days. Do well to find a spot to park very close, but it will be easy enough to find one without a great walk

Thanks for the info, sounds great, so similar in a way to Birmingham in that probably no need to buy tickets in advance.
I've currently got a room at the Devonshire Park Hotel so maybe just as easy to walk straight from there.
I think I've been persuaded to go down there.
It's a mixed event now as well which I think adds to its appeal.

Hello Phil, not been to the Eastbourne tourney but went to the DC tie there 3 years ago which was held in July.  Most of us booked into the DaVinci Hotel (already fully booked for Eastbourne week) which gave all residents one free parking permit per day!.  Most of the hotels and beach are within walking distance of the tennis venue and it's a lovely relaxed place.  I think you can buy tickets on the day but it's worth giving Aegon a call.  Our hotelier recommended us 2 places to eat and both were excellent - the one we liked best was Meze which is a Turkish restaurant.

If you need something organised, there is nobody better to rely on than Daisy.  We had a great time at the DC and she did a fabulous job organising anything.  So if she is recommending hotels etc, follow her advice !!

No problem ... not managing to go to Eastbourne myself 'cos it's the same week as Boodles which I always go to as it's only 20mins drive from my home.  I'm hoping to squeeze in a day at Edgbaston (and outside chance Nottingham for a zip day) but won't be able to fix in advance because I'm moving from a temporary job to a permanent one within the same company and dates/time off is currently uncertain for the first 10 days of June.  But I really want to go and get the grass season underway at some live tennis so if I go to Edgbaston I'll text you.

Fingers crossed that you can make it to Edgbaston, but yes Boodles is ideal for you on every level. Good luck for the move to the permanent job.
