Even if Dan does get through the winner is likely to play Tavares who is on a false ranking and was in top 200 at one stage.

Dan is now only one break down 5-3*

Sousa took the 1st set 6-3 but Dan has broken at the start of the 2nd, so has won 5 of the last 7 games.

It was Dan's first match on hard court for quite a while so that probably contributed to the slow start.
