I'm sure plenty of buses go close to it, but I you'd have to look at TFL.gov.uk to see which. I always go by bike!
There is a bar that does standard pub food, standard prices not Wimbledon prices. You would have to take your own strawberries and cream though.
Overall, I think qualies is a much better experience than the main tournament. And if you want to see British men in action, you don't have too much choice!
i've never been to roehampton. but i pretty much always go to queens qualies, normally a good chance to see some brits in action. with the added bonus of seeing some big names on the practice courts.

Go it's a great day out. Barnes station is about a 10 minute walk as I recall. There is a cafe there (which the officials use as well), and ITF head office is there and they sometimes have a shop there as well.
Definitely try it out. You can see all the players up close and yes very spectator friendly. Best of all is it's free. Not sure about transport but there must be a bus that stops somewhere close. It's a really good day out.
Thanks for all the information definitely going now! What is the cut off point in the mens for automatic entry into the qualifying
It varies depending on who actually enters and how many withdrawals there are but to give you a reasonable idea.
The acceptance list for French Open qualifiers is out and the original cut off is 223. That will probably drift to about 245-250 after withdrawals, main draw wild cards, etc. Normally Wimbledon will have a slightly lower cut off because quite a few clay courters decide not to bother so probably somewhere about 255-260. The rankings as of Monday 27th May will be used for the entry list.
Thanks, Scottie1, for asking the question and to everyone else for answering - I'll definitely be going too now.
Shame that the WC play offs are not open to the general public. I wonder why . . . Can't be a logistic problem - they're hardly likely to be inundated by the masses.
Count Zero, are the Queens qualies also free ?

I believe qualifications are always free at ATP/WTA level - I certainly havent ever heard of anyone being charged to watch.
Pricing is available here (http://www.lta.org.uk/fans-major-events/LTA-summer-grass-court-events/Aegon-Championships/Tickets/) and doesnt mention the qualifying days so I would assume it is free!
As a side note, I didnt know realise Queens tickets were so expensive. My Centre Court tickets this year are a good deal cheaper!
I'm at Roehampton university, there are buses from Hammersmith that get you straight to the venue. :) Although Roehampton is pretty far out of everything! haha
Queens qualies have always been free entry with a wristband. The wristband is just for numbers in the grounds and used to be valid for both days. Nearest tube Barons Court a 5 min walk from the grounds at most. I've just refused buying tickets for Queens for the last couple of years. The price has gone through the roof and it's hard to enjoy the tennis over the noise of braying bankers.
wasn't there a year where they tried charging a fiver to get in to queens qualies? however then it was more set up, nowadays they typically still have all the construction going on. I think they may limit it to 500 spectators as well and also, annoyingly, often they don't allow people in till after the matches have started. But given all that, and especially if the sun is shinning, it can be a really nice day out.
