He has to win the R1 match first !!

Currently 2-0 down in the first set and didn't win a single point in those two games.

Note to self : Early days Bob - don't panic.

Very slow start, he has only won 2 of the first 12 points

Hossam reached as high as no. 11 in juniors last year and is playing at home, but I wasn't expecting Oli to have much trouble with him. He seemed to be steadying the ship with a break and then a point for 2-2 but has just been broken again 1-3*

Hossam serving for the match up a set and a double break 6-3 *5-2 ... looks like this is a day Oli will want to forget

It's not over yet.  Oli saves match point to break back.

And then holds for 4-5*.

Needs to break again now. Come on Oli.

Despite creating several BP's in the final game, Oli goes down 6-3 6-4. Just seems like he "woke up" too late.

R1: (4) Oliver Golding WR 460 lost to (WC) Karim Hossam (EGY) WR 1111 : 3-6 4-6

4 straight losses for Oli in 4 different tournaments in 3 different countries, post lay-off. Is it just me who was expecting a little bit more than this by now? Confused.

No, you are not alone in expecting a little bit more. Still, far too early to panic.

Kyle will be ranked ahead of Oli by Wimbledon time.

I would also have expected more by now. Disappointing. I hope Oli can find his mojo sooner rather than later.
