L32: (Q) Joshua Ward-Hibbert WR 1120 v (Q) Thomas Le Boulch (FRA) WR 1237 L32: Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 613 v (SE) Jae-Hwan Kim (KOR) WR 1169
Both Josh and Fitzy are likely to meet their conquerors from last week in the second round. Neither play in singles until Tuesday but they start their doubles campaign tomorrow.
R1: (2) Andrew Fitzpatrick / Joshua Ward-Hibbert WR 1516 v (WC) Luan Bui / Minhtuan Pham (VIE/VIE) UNR
very very good performance today looking forward to getting some revenge tomorrow in singles. playing very well just need to back myself in the big occasions. Match wins just cant be replaced and with what Team GB did in the davis cup i felt the inspiration from all the way over here. The temp has not necessarily been as high with cloud cover but if anything that has meant it has got even more humid which leaves u sweating more. i play 1st on tomorrow on centre and then doubles later. JWH does not take to the court for singles tomorrow.
Well done Fitzy and good luck for later. Glad you were inspired by the DC win - it really was some achievement! Hopefully it will continue to rub off on others too!
Good wins for the boys today Kim had reached the semis last week.
I wouldn't normally repeat the R1 results, but it seems worth it here to add the tiebreak score and update the rankings:
L32: (Q) Joshua Ward-Hibbert WR 1024 beat (Q) Thomas Le Boulch (FRA) WR 1232 by 6-4 7-6(6) L32: Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 609 beat (SE) Jae-Hwan Kim (KOR) WR 1169 by 6-2 6-2
JWH gets a bit of luck in R2 because Recouderc pulled out and was replaced by a lucky loser. Let's hope Fitzy can channel a bit of that DC 'vibe' to upset Pouille this time!
L16: (Q) Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 1024 v (Q) Mark Fynn (ZIM) WR 1185 (CH 1116 in 2011) L16: Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 609 v (2) Lucas Pouille (FRA) WR 372 (= CH) - H2H 0-1, 5 & 5, last week

Back to 4-4* after saving more BPs and I have to leave for work. 8 DFs in 7 service games. Sounds like you're back in this, so if you could sort out the win please Andrew!
