Brady is unranked but qualified for this week's 25K in Innisbrook and upset Nara WR 156 in R1.
Catalina Castaño tweets: "Please ITF tennis...we need a rule with this kind of tournaments!, 50 looks like a WTA....#speechless"
Basically, because it's in Florida and week 2 of Miami, the main draw cut looks to have ended up around 120, top 200 only scrapes into qualifying (and JoKo isn't seeded) and qualifying looks not dissimilar in strength to the main draw of the 50K in France.

Jo lost 64 in the third. Her form in these tight matches is worrying. Just can't find a way to grind these 3 setters out. Tough times, very disappointing.
In fact in 2013, the only GB girl who has shown either an uptick or confirmation of form is Tara, with a few green shoots from Lucy and Katie, albeit at a much much lower level. I'm assuming Tara's own little blip in the 2 GB tournaments was illness affected. Our discussions about the depth of quality on the womens side have been many and various, so let's at least hope we have something to cheer at the top end very soon. Its been quite a while already.
As for JoKo, the 100-200 ranking is very tough to get into in the first place, and for most even harder to get out of except via the back door. I think she, like Heather, probably lacks big big weapons, so it may take a year or two to find something extra.
Agree, I've seen her about 3 times and she hits the ball pretty hard. Nice ground strokes and strong serve - sometimes her footwork isn't great - but she definitely has a few weapons. Hopefully it's just a blip or she's trying something new. Sounds like she has a good team around her so I'm not too concerned.
Jo hits a very big ball. Don't agree with the lack of weapons thing at all.
If anything she sometimes overhits. Countless times in her match against McHale at wimbledon last year she went long by about an inch or two on relitively easy shots. Kins of reminded me of early Bally in that way
