Nevolo has come through a lot of big qualifying draws recently and will probably best be remembered on this forum for having upset Boggo in 3 sets on his way to the semi-finals at another Futures event at the same venue last September.
Dan is only 4th on the LL list, unfortunately (despite being the highest-ranked FQR loser)

No results from today yet but I notice the top seed (who is in Josh's quarter) was upset by unranked 26-y-o Korean Cho Min Hyeok, who hit a career high of 666 in 2010. Not sure if he's the devil in disguise or the male version of Ana Belzunce-Crompin!
Cho also reached the semis in Calabasas last week as a qualifier (hence his SE this week) but that was the first time he had played on the circuit since 2010, when he only played one tournament. His career high came from 5 tournaments in 2009, when he reached the China F6 Final as a qualifier and then won China F7.
In that 2010 tournament he played, he didn't win a game, which may have put him off playing any more that year. He probably didn't realise that the player who double bagelled him in R1 of Korea F2 was on his way to the top 20 - a certain Milos Raonic!

I have found a tweet from @Holder_Elizabet (no idea who she is)
"Great to watch #Illini Dennis Nevolo at work. @dnevolo1 Rd1 win at #CostaMesaFutures"
So it looks like Josh has spent 4 weeks in the US and not picked up a single point.
Indeed, the Korean I talked about above won't be meeting Josh in the QFs It wasn't even close.
L32: (8) Josh Milton WR 383 lost to (Q) Dennis Nevolo (USA) WR 621 by 2 & 3
Re. the last part, what makes it worse is that Josh has been seeded all four weeks too. Not that seedings mean much when there are so many college (etc) ringers in these US Futures draws, I know.
