There is a Brit in qualifying, but sadly no sign of Boggo

QR1: (wc) Connor Glennon WR 1571 v (q4) Matthew Ebden (AUS) WR 113

Connor is at college in Memphis - more at http://www.gotigersgo.com/sports/m-tennis/spec-rel/021513aaa.html and http://www.gotigersgo.com/sports/m-tennis/mtt/connor_glennon_790733.html

LOL sorry about that! Still, it looks like I managed to answer your "who is Connor Glennon and why has he got a a wild card" question in that thread just as you were asking it. wink

Christian Harrison also has a QWC here, playing [1] Michael Russell.
Perhaps there is some interest in seeing how he fares and trying to extrapolate Ed Corrie's potential level at this level from the fallout, given their recent encounters.

Connor seems to be holding his own against the world no. 113 - he lost the 1st set but no bakery products, it was 6-3 (2 breaks to 1) and is serving at 1-1 in the 2nd (though possibly about to get broken - 30-40)

2 breaks to 1 in the 2nd set too - Ebden is serving for the match.

Not a bad effort at all against someone ranked 1458 places higher - Connor actually won 48% of the points in the 2nd set.

GSM Ebden 6-3 6-4
A highly commendable performance from Mr. Glennon, and he perhaps had his chances for even more; 2/6 BP converted compared to Ebden's 4/6.
So, when does he finish college then!

C. Harrison lost 7-5 6-4, also impressively close. Being optimistic, perhaps evidence on recent form suggests Ed Corrie could do well at a level only a shade lower than this then.
