Xu beat Naomi in USO Q last year. Yee is a 16-year-old who won the US girls 16U title last year but hasn't done anything special in junior ITFs.

6 of the 8 qualifiers will play a fellow-qualifier.

Next up is Jana Juricova who I assume is at college as she hasn't played since qualifying for Stanford last summer (beating Yung-Jan Chan and Alexa Glatch), so her ranking of 934 might be misleading...

Though she's 25 so perhaps she just doesn't play much? Though her name does seem familiar from old NCAA reports so maybe she is a former college player hence the Stanford QWC?

Juricova hit a career high of 253 in 2007 and ended up going to college in the US relatively late by the looks of it - she won the NCAA title in 2011 but didn't manage to defend it in 2012 before leaving college last summer. Not sure why she hasn't played between Stanford and here.
