Two excellent wins, as both Brits come from behind against much higher-ranked players to extend their unbeaten runs in Australian Open qualifying to 5 matches

QR2: Jamie Baker WR 246 beat (q19) Matteo Viola (ITA) WR 137 (CH 123 in Nov) by 3-6 6-2 6-4 biggrin
QR2: James Ward WR 247 beat Mischa Zverev (GER) WR 159 (CH 45 in 2009) by 6-7(1) 6-4 6-4 biggrin

FQR: Jamie Baker WR 246 v Donald Young (USA) WR 189 (CH 38 last Feb) - 2nd on Court 6 after 01.30 GMT
FQR: James Ward WR 247 v Julian Reister (GER) WR 296 (CH 92 in 2011) - 3rd on *streamed* Court 3 after 01.30 GMT

Young upset James Blake today but Jamie upset the Don last year in Eastbourne R1, 1 & 4, avenging a defeat a few years earlier.

James has played Reister once before, losing 2 & 3 at Nußloch Futures in 2009.

As you can probably see 1st set over in the 1st match on court 8 and she already has a break in the 2nd.

JB could be on reasonably quickly.

What will this result do for his ranking? Definitely want to see him rising into the top 150 - 100 point at some point!

 Not nearly as many points on offer in slam qualifying for men as for women (at least, not in QR1), so Jamie has 16 points so far which should take him into the 220s.
