L32: Heather Watson WR 49 v (5) Sorana Cirstea (ROU) WR 27 (CH 23 in 2009)

A tough draw for Hev (especially considering that she would probably have been seeded in the International with more prize money in Shenzhen) but she does lead the H2H 1-0 - that stunning comeback from 0-5* down in the final set in Miami earlier this year.

2nd round draw could be even tougher against Kuznetsova. Hev has picked the short straw with this one.

Heather & Erakovic are #2 doubles seeds and playing a kiwi pair i've not heard of

Also how do you guys and gals do it? this is just my 3rd nite trying to stay up late to follow tennis in the small hours coz i've got 2 weeks off work. and I'm already ruined and on a coffee drip!!! any tips or am i just a lightweight???

ah that'll be the problem. i'm very much a somniac. I was hoping enthusiasm might get me through the fortnight but i'm never gonna be able to stay awake even for laura later, let alone anythin else

her singles is 0100 here new years day so may be too worse the wear for that one

fell asleep. seems i didn't miss much though pretty routine

for the singles if Watson gets past sorana her draw looks nicer now cos kuznetsova and zheng both lost. Bertens then hampton or dubois/erakovic looks more better
it's all romanians for Hev & laura so far!
