Week 46 - Turkey F44 ($10,000) - Antalya - Kaya-Belek (hard)

It looks like George Morgan has scraped into the main draw here without needing to qualify like he did for F43.

Tom has only played 5 Futures this year but has managed to make it through qualifying in all of them.

live streaming available for this tournament on the following link http://www.tenistv.tv/wk/index.php I believe the 5 court numbers correspond to the court numbers given in the OOP on the ATP Challenger web page. So Tom shoukd be on 3 later, and George on 5. However dont quote me, this may be completely wrong. Some of the scores shown are from previous days matches, but some seem to be correct - so ignore or follow as appropriate If last tournament was anything to go by, may have to watch Geroge with some trepidation, but today IS another day

... but he seems fairly upbeat nonetheless:

@georgemorgan10: "lost today 4nd5 best match of the trip and still lost. been a tough 7 weeks here. learnt a lot. looking forward to next year now! can't wait"

Good that George remains positive.  I do feel that next year will be a very important year in which he really needs to start making noticeable progress.

Definitely. I'm super impressed that he has such a positive mental attitude. It can't be easy, as you don't turn from a promising player into a bad player overnight, but in George's case it's almost as if someone flipped the on switch to off. It may take someone from the outside with a critical independent eye, plus no attachments, to assess what he is now doing which has put the brakes on.

To context this, I suspect its a longer term issue than just 7 weeks. In fact, until last week's first round victory (which, lets face it was by retirement by injury anyway), George had not beaten a single player inside the top 1000 since March 2012, and had had only 4 wins in total during this period from LOTS of tournaments. So his ranking in the 800s will fall further soon without a big change of fortune.

I'm backing him to come out fighting early next year.
