Week 44 - Challenger (€30,000 +H) - Eckental, Germany (Indoor Synthetic) - doubles

Nice little surprise popping up in Eckental ...

R1:  ALT Adham El-Effendi (USA) & Darren Walsh defeated Dustin Brown & Daniel Brands (GER/GER) 6-4 6-7(5) 10-5

Fantastic result against two very good singles players, both with big games. Extends their nice run of wins. Has something clicked with this pairing all of a sudden? From struggling to win consistently at futures level to back to back titles and this... long may it continue!

QF:  ALT Adham El-Effendi (USA) & Darren Walsh vs (4) Lukas Dlouhy & Albano Olivetti (CZE/FRA)

Nice litttle surprise indeed! biggrin  I'd been checking for a possible appearance this week by these two, but kept drawing a blank.   Delighted to see them gain a foothold on the Challenger circuit.   Hoping against hope that they can make an impression against the fourth seeds.

Shame about this match. But quite an astounding rankings rise for one year. Well done to them. The result earlier this week + some of their earlier results this year suggest they could rise yet further.

Looks as though they may be struggling a bit:  first set down the pan by 1-6.  1-0* in the second.

They're doing better:  now 4-3* in the second.

But, sadly, not well enough:

QF:  (4) Lukas Dlouhy & Albano Olivetti (CZE/FRA) defeated (ALT) Adham El-Effendi (USA) & Darren Walsh by 1 & 4 cry
