2012 US Open BOTB Pickem Competition

The US Open Pickem competition is now open for entries at: http://www.britishtennis.net/Competitions.html

Entries close when play starts so tomorrow at 15:00 GMT/ 16:00 BST.

I know that's shorter notice than we usually give but there is an ongoing debate as to whether it helps to spend more or less time making your picks so this isn't neccessarily a bad thing

Good Luck to all who enter

Oh, had just noticed this in the Competitions page and signed bac in here to tell folk, but beaten too it  smile

Mine is going to be a very rushed job tomorrow. Let's see how it compares with my carefully considered ( but rather unsuccessful ) Wimbledon attempt !

Thanks again to these who have helped give us another pick'em

Works for me.  Have you tried going via the "Link Back" near the the top left of this forum page ?

Entered now and for better or worse I had more time for consideration than I had anticipated.

I had a dream about a week ago where the semi-finalists where Berdych, Youzhny, Gasquet and Monaco. Only gone with Gasquet (doh) in my Pick'em but if any of the other 3 make a surprise run I'll be kicking myself!

In the rest of this dream I interviewed Greg and Heather since they had entered the mixed doubles together and remember hearing that Marray and Nielsen had lost 11-9 in the 5th set in the 1st round!  Somehow I was later in a snooker tournament and had just won my semi-final, not sure who I beat but I was being interviewed alongside Shaun Murphy who was going to be my opponent in the final.  He had beaten Peter Ebdon in his semi, who was in tears having lost his match.

Easily the craziest, and surprisingly vivid, dream I have ever had. confuse

It's my best start yet. Although I think I'll drop like a lead balloon in the end, having not predicted that Fed or Nole will reach the final....

David Nalbandian has withdrawn from his scheduled Wednesday R1 match against Del Potro.

Quote from the US Open site :

"David Nalbandian has withdrawn from both singles and doubles at the 2012 US Open. His place in the singles, scheduled as the third match in Louis Armstrong Stadium on Wednesday, will be taken a lucky loser determined at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday."

I've emailed also, but Monaco lost and GGL won - I think most people will be slipping a point, including me.

Yes, I noticed that as well, an extra dimension of unexpected dissappointment, having the points cruelly taken away. Pickem just goes on giving (or in this case taking) biggrin

Sorry guys, it's been corrected now. I honestly read it as Monaco having won, my theory is that my brain shut down knowing that I simply couldn't take another disappointment in one go
