Daily Mail

A few days ago there was a discussion about the Daily Mail on one of the threads, but I can't remember which one and I can't find it now.

Anyway, the discussion started when there was a comment about their claims of a large circulation jump. I now know why!

Both this week and last week, at least, they were offering £5 off the food and wine bill at M&S. People are to be seen all over the stores searching for the voucher and tearing it out before they buy the paper. I did it myself! Spending 55p to get £5 off is well worth while. Somebody in the queue said they did not normally spend that much, but were stocking up on non-perishables to get the money off.

So that is at least part of the reason why their circulation has suddenly jumped.

Just resurrecting this thread to say that not only have the Fail been pulled up by Judy for implying that she was offered the LTA CEO job and turned it down ...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/tennis/article-2436852/Andy-Murrays-mum-Judy-reveals-turned-British-tennis-job.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

... but they also say in article about Laura "The 19-year-old smiled and signed autographs at the pre-tournament gathering, just five days after losing to Johanna Konta in the first round of the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/tennis/article-2436552/Laura-Robson-given-tennis-cake-China-Open.html

Big news that somehow I missed! winkdisbelief

Needless to say, neither of the articles were written by Mike Dickson, Alex Kay or Stu Fraser.

I see that Johanna has morphed into Ayumi Morita. Someone must have told them.

- and they were giving it away in smiths the other day too when you made any purchase, but again - nobody was accepting it (to my shame I took it but only for the crossword)

Not the Daily Mail but here's The Guardian, showing how NOT to report tennis:

"Tennis
Petra Kvitova beats Agnieszka Radwanska to win WTA Finals 2015 as it happened

Agnieszka Radwanska edged a dramatic three-set tussle with Petra Kvitova to claim the biggest title of her career at the WTA Finals in Singapore"

www.theguardian.com/sport/live/2015/nov/01/petra-kvitova-v-agnieszka-radwanska-wta-finals-2015-live

I guess the site will be updated pretty quickly, hence the copy and paste, but really.........
