My choices are a bit girly. I like Love Actually (but only at Christmas), Bridget Jones 1 + 2, I have to confess to watching Wimbledon DVD at least 4 times this year. What else? Little Britain, 24 and I`ll probably ending up getting Lost on DVD too.
The 2nd Bridget Jones is quite funny, perhaps more than the first one. I liked it more anyway.
I loved the first series of Little Britain and I don`t think the other series have been as good. I prefer the original characters like Vicky Pollard and Lou and Andy.
I agree, the 1st series of Little Britain was the best. So many brilliant characters: Vicky Pollard, Daffyd and Emily Howard are all works of genius. Unfortunately since then their imagination seems to have run dry and they've descended to rather crude, cheap laughs.
I haven't seent the Bridget Jones film but I saw several excerpts which seemed really funny. I hear that there was another fight sequence aswell which was even better.
The original characters are great - not sure about some of the new ones like the woman who wees everywhere and the one who throws up on everyone. I don`t think they`re funny. Did you see it this yesterday?
Bridget Jones 2- The fight scene is great, they (the two main male characters) end up in the fountain! It`s a good film, funny in parts but i`d give it a miss if you`re not into chick-flicks.
I agree, my favourites are Daffyd, Emily Howard, Vicky Pollard and Majorie. I've never particularly found the projectile vomiting or the woman who wees everywhere particularly funny at all. I like some of the new ones like the "computer says no" travel agent and the college secretary who insults all the students. I hate the ones they do just for the shock value eg: the one in series one about the teenager with a crush on a 90 year old lady. Unfortunately as their imagination has run dry, they've started to put more and more of those types of sketches in.
I'll watch Bridget Jones 2 when it appears on TV, probably next Christmas. I've never seen Love Actually, but I saw "Wimbledon" at the cinema. I thought it was ok, the stars of the film are really good-looking but the script is way too predictable.
Wimbledon is definitely predictable but I think that`s actually why I enjoyed it. I like the idea that in some quite possibly parallel universe it might happen - the British wildcard winning Wimbledon
Love Actually seems to go on for hours. I think it`s 2 and a half hours but it seems much longer than that. I only watch it at Christmas and the run-up as it`s very Christmas-orientated, so it`s a bit weird watching it in summer.
MKK - I don`t think I`ve seen it What is it about?
Its based on a true story in brazil about hoodlums and its a real 'alternative choice'. IT follows two boys growing up in a violent neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro who take different paths: one becomes a photographer, the other a drug dealer. It was subbed so the reading was a bit tedious especially when watching in the night as i couldnt be asked to read it. It got rave reviews when it came out
