All first meetings. It's never going to be easy for Brits at RG, but those draws could have been a lot worse! Having said that, all of their R1 opponents hit career highs last month, so (without having dig any deeper yet) they are probably all in decent form.

am i right in thinking itv has rights to show coverage of the french open this year. does this include qualies? looking forward to adverts at every change of end!

Yep - see here, but while the qualies are important to regular posters on here when there's a Brit involved, given the limited number of hours which will be broadcast each day, I can't see ITV being @rsed about something as insignificant (in the eyes of the uninitiated) as matches preceding "the main event". The Beeb doesn't cover Wimbledon qualies, so why should ITV, with a far less ambitious project at R-G, waste precious time on what is, let's face it, basically the warm-ups?
Roland Garros website seems to have gone downhill massively this year.
Sure I remember last year they did the qualies draw "live" on the IBM Tracker part of the website so you could see the names being placed. No such luck at 5pm yesterday.
Also the Live Scores section of the RG website seems to have no current matches to display. If this isn't the fault of my browser then tsk tsk to Roland Garros.
