This could turn out to be a nasty draw because Dzehalevich (26yo) is a former top 150 player (CH 134 in October 2008) but this will be her first match on the circuit since November 2010, when it appears she took time off to have a baby.

Lisa managed to avoid the Dzehalevich banana skin, but it doesn't get any easier in R1:

Q2: WHYBOURN, Lisa (GBR) 4 549 beat DZEHALEVICH, Ekaterina (BLR) UNR by 6-3 7-6(4)

R1: WHYBOURN, Lisa (GBR) Q 549 v ÖZGEN, Pemra (TUR) 6 288

That was good win.

Toughie next but more than winnable. I've seen Ozgen play live and she's nothing spectacular, makes a lot of balls.

R1: WHYBOURN, Lisa (GBR) Q 549 beat ÖZGEN, Pemra (TUR) 6 288 by 7-5 4-6 6-3 biggrin

R1: WHYBOURN, Lisa (GBR) Q 549 v KICHENOK, Nadiya (UKR) SE 621 (CH 402 last May)

Nadiya seems to be in good form - the reason for her SE is that she reached the Final in Fergana last week, though it was partly due to her (higher-ranked) twin sister retiring in their QF! She was a top 20 junior and Lisa played her once at junior level, losing in 3 sets in Manila in 2008.

R1: WHYBOURN, Lisa (GBR) Q 549 beat KICHENOK, Nadiya (UKR) SE 621 (CH 402 last May) by 3-6 6-4 3-2 ret.

Lisa says Kichenok 'retired due to exhaustion' .. so maybe her run to the Final last week finally took its toll. Another very good win anyway.

Really good to see this from Lisa  smile

Must be a decent chance that she's putting herself in line for a Wimbledon Qualifying WC to give herself a chance of at least repeating her qualifying performances of 2010, having been out at this time last year.

It just goes to show what benefits can be gained from qualifying and getting wins to build up the confidence.
Can't remember the last time Lisa had such success, great stuff.
