Week 20 - ITF ($50K) - Kurume, Japan - Artificial Grass

L32: Melanie South WR 281 v Shuko Aoyama (JPN) WR 349 - H2H 1-0, 3 sets, Fukuoka 2008
L32: Tara Moore WR 333 v Emily Webley-Smith WR 427 - definitely a 'Kurume' draw disbelief
L32: Samantha Murray WR 353 v Jessica Pegula (USA) WR 294

Despite the irresistibly dreadful pun, not abad draw really, with all 4 of them avoiding seeds and at least one of Tara and Emily guaranteed a few points.

The roll continues

L32: Melanie South WR 281 beat Shuko Aoyama (JPN) WR 349 by 1 & 2

"Won 6.1 6.2 today was tougher than the score line suggests but played a very good match"

L16: Melanie South WR 281 v (7) Zheng Saisai (CHN) WR 242 (= CH)
L16: Emily Webley-Smith WR 427 v (3) Wang Qiang (CHN) WR 224 (CH 221)

Emily has played Wang twice and got thrashed both times, 3 & 0 at Wenshan 2011 and 0 & 1 at Pattaya 2012, so not a good match-up for her

L16: Emily Webley-Smith WR 427 lost to (3) Wang Qiang (CHN) WR 224 (CH 221) by 3 & 4

Emily won nearly twice as many games as she won in her previous two meetings with Wang combined, so that's progress of sorts!
