Maia is certainly a big talent and it will be fascinating to see how she fares this week. I wouldn't rule her out of qualifying here.

the qualy draw just confirms my reasons for missing this tournament now maia is a talent in scotland but seen this before Eg CaitLin Steel Katie Gator and Joanna Henderson all disappeared from the tennis tourneys. How many times do Georgina Bastick and Natasha Starling try to qualify for this tournament!!!!!!!!!!!! If Eleanor Dean or Harriet Dart were there then I would consider going. Oh for the days Of Joanna Larsson gracing Craiglockhart

Meanwhile, 14-year-old Maia Lumsden is trying to qualify for a 10K at her first attempt against ex-top 700 player Océane Adam FRA WR 1171. She recovered from 1-3* down in the 1st set to take it 6-4 and then went 5-1 up in the 2nd (breaking Adam 6 times in a row, though dropping serve a couple of times herself) but has since lost 5 games in a row to leave Adam serving for the set 6-4 5-6*
