And the second break is retrieved, while Ross holds, for once, to 15:  5-4*.  Not sure they deserve to be in such a (relatively) comfortable position, but if you can play poorly & still win...

In the next round they will play either [WC] N Monroe (USA) / J Sock (USA) Or S Darcis (BEL) / O Rochus (BEL) who play today.

The 2nd Seeds (Melzer/Petzchner) have also pulled out so that could have been the biggest challenge out the way.

Would you Adam & Eve it?  There's another Brit intruder in the doubles courtesy of the withdrawal of the second seeds, Melzer & Petzschner ( biggrin ):

R1:  (ALT) James Ward & Michael Yani (USA) vs Mikhail Elgin & Denis Istomin (RUS/UZB)

I know Istomin's a more than competent singles player, while Russian Marble Man is a very handy doubles player, but I reckon Dino & Michael are in with a glimmer of a chance, providing Dino's confidence hasn't taken too much of a battering in the last couple of weeks.  Prove me right, boys, !

Oh dear!  Misplaced optimism,  blind faith or what?  James & Michael lost by 4 & 2! cry  ashamed  Hope they earned a decent pay packet...
