Evans, Ward, Eaton, Bloomfield and Rice are DAs.

Thornley, Burton, Fitzpatrick, Morgan, Martin and Gabb were on the alternative list but are not part of the qualifying draw. Presumably 4 of them got wild cards and hopefully the other two sneaked in. The last ITF list had Thornley and Burton as 3rd and 4th alternates with 2 SEs to clear.

Once again we don't have a full qualifying draw (only 44, same as last week) and once again British hopes don't look great. Only Hudson will come through if things go according to the seedings.

Not many surprises in Sheffield today with 12 of the 13 seeds making the final round. At least one Brit will qualify as Oliver Hudson plays Nicolas Jones. Six other Brits also reached the FQR but on paper all will be expected to lose. Click on link in above post for full details.

Unsurprisingly only Hudson came through qualifying. Thornley, Burton, Fitzpatrick, Morgan are the wild cards so ten Brits in all make the main draw.

Hmm, I think Przysiezny is the tennis equivalent of a golfing bandit, I wouldn't trust his ranking for a moment.  I see somehow it had got low enough that he even had to qualify here  ( edit, actually he must have been a late entry since he is WR 316 which was easily good enough for the main draw, and that's actually a decent looking effort by Sean ).

I remember September 2009 him beating Evo in a decisive Davis Cup match when he was ranked WRE 678.  He had been ranked WR 190 in 2007 and although yes, he'd had a period out in 2008 his results also had been pretty poor.

After that he steadily shoots up to WR 76 by November 2010 !

Played mosy of the time since, but his ranking back down to WR 316, particularly with a couple of challenger finals ( a win and a loss ) coming off in November.

Another bloody Pole to beware of !
