No draw on ITF yet but Emily has tweeted: "1st draw of 2012 out+i play a romanian first up 2mro.tummy healed,prep's been gd+i can't wait to compete healthy again.let battle commence!" so unless the entry list is incomplete, that must mean:

L32: Emily Webley-Smith WR 258 v Madalina Gojnea (ROU) WR 187 (CH 149 last July)

Gojnea is 0-2 v Brits in the last 10 years, losing to Katie and to Natasha Khan, but both those matches were a few years ago.

No result yet, but unfortunately:

"Got my ass kicked today.opponent made 2 errors in 1st set+4 in 2nd.I was a world away from how I've been practising.head down,keep working."

It can't be fun going all that way only for that to happen.

Cut-off for qualifying was rankings on 19th December.

According to the regularly updated first post here, http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=449348  :

The current first 7 alternates are ranked from WR 213 to 220.  Emily was ranked WR 242 on 19th December.
