L32: Matthew Short WR 816 v Chris Letcher (AUS) WR 580

Letcher, who lost 3 & 2 to Jamie B at the Leon Challenger in April, only just missed being seeded so it's not as good a R1 draw as Matthew might have hoped for in what is a relatively weak tournament.

Matt's made a winning start in the doubles, albeit agin unranked local opponents & after a bit of a battle:

R1:  Edgar López & Ricky Medinilla (MEX/MEX) UNR lost to Matt Short & Ty Trombetta (USA) WR 1878 by 6-4 0-6 [7-10]

Matt & partner lost the first set by 4-6 & were, I think, a break down in the second when I turned my back on the laptop to attend to a domestic chore.  When I checked again, the match had disappeared off the LS, so I assume they lost. hmm
