Revenge and a rare top 500 scalp for James

L32: James Feaver WR 799 beat (7) Mikhail Vasiliev (RUS) WR 429 by 6-2 7-6(5) biggrin

L16: James Feaver WR 799 v (Q) Vadim Kutsenko (RUS) UNR

34-year-old Kutsenko reached a career high of 140 back in 2002 and reached Round 2 at the Australian Open the following year but hasn't been ranked for more than 5 years, though of couese he picked up a ranking point today.

Kutsenko's record this year reads: loss by w/o ... loss by 1-4 ret. ... loss by w/o ... double bagel loss to Stadler (who coincidentally also has a CH of 140 but is now ranked 320) ... 3 wins here (2 in qualifying)

Was he really ranked 140 at the age of 16? He must have been very decent back in the day. Saying that, 19 years is a long time to get out of practise!

Steven I think you meant 2002 not 1992 according to atp site, that makes more sense! If you're 140 at 16 you're on the path to superstardom!

Oops - now corrected. I've no idea where I picked up the 1992 from, especially when I managed to put 2002 in the corresponding tweet. confuseashamed

By hook or by crook, it's turning into a good week for the Feaver!

L16: James Feaver WR 799 beat (Q) Vadim Kutsenko (RUS) UNR by 4-0 ret.

QF: James Feaver WR 799 v (4) Enrico Burzi ITA WR 364 (CH 269 in 2008) - H2H 0-1, 2 & 0 in Sofia in May 2011

Sadly, though perhaps predictably, the lucky run came to an end earlier today:  James lost by 0 & 2. cry
