Josh was 1-4 down in the tie-break but won 5 points in a row to get to 6-4. However, he couldn't convert and Jouan served for the set at 8-7. It was then Josh' turn to save the save point with a mini-break and he then went on to take the tie-break 10-8.

Yes, an excellent win - he'll play a Belgian WC next (Pacquot or Gentle, who are playing now), with (q2) Ivo Minar CZE WR 188 the top seed in his section.

It was always going to be interesting how Josh faired against someone ranked around 225 after winning so much at a slightly weaker level. Would be great to see him qualify but Minar may be asking to much
It's been really good to see how Josh has seemingly turned his game around in the last few months and clearly has worked on getting much fitter and leaner. Looks as if some hard work is paying dividends.
And it's also good to see him back playing where he should be able to compete, at challenger level, albeit currently qualifying.
That's a good result and hopefully there will be more to follow in the tail end of this year and into next year.

Josh is without the financial support he used to receive now. He seems to have made excellent use of the bonus's on offer for doing well in futures and, even a couple of British Tour wins. This allows him to travel I presume but, it'll be hard if he then runs at a loss after coming. The prize money for just being in the 1st round is pretty good at this sort of size challenger so I really, REALLY hope for Josh's sake he can make it through qualies at the least.
