The good news - Boggo hasn't drawn one of the top 2 seeds in R1 this time
The bad news - the winner of his R1 match is likely to play no. 1 seed Lu Yen-Hsun in R2 (*) ... doh!
Wardy is seeded and is also in the top quarter. Neither Brit has played their R1 opponent before.
L32: Alex Bogdanovic WR 376 v Gregory Ouellette (USA) WR 301 (CH 293 last Nov) L32: (5) James Ward WR 177 v Mark Verryth (AUS) WR 566 (CH 507 in Mar 2011)
This will be Ouellette's first match since he got double bagelled by Odesnik in the Lexington semis after beating Jamie Baker by retirement in the QFs.
Verryth is yet to win a set in a Challenger main draw match - this will be his third attempt.
(*) If Lu gets past Bastl, who was the last direct acceptance at WR 777 (he has dropped to 833 since the entry deadline) - this suggests that Colin could have got in had he entered for the main draw - indeed, there are 19 Brits ranked higher than 777 who might have got in had they entered!

For crying out loud
What is Lu doing here anyway. He has played ATP events for the last two weeks (QF's at both Atlanta and LA) and would easily have made it into Washington as a DA.
Both guys in action "today". Boggo is 4th on court 2. Ward is 2nd evening match on centre. With play starting at 18:00 BST Boggo won't be on until at least 22:00 and probably closer to midnight. Ward won't be on until about 4:00 Tuesday morning BST.
Jamie Murray has also turned up in the doubles partnering Stephen Huss. They play Klahn and Kosakowski in the first evening match on centre. Starting at 2:30 tomorrow morning BST.

Boggo's match against Omellette won't start until midnight at the very earliest, so it will require a marathon session to follow our guys in action tonight.
