he's not planning on playing Qaulies so i doubt he will be there, he's never really liked Binghampton either from what I remember, don't know why, this one and Bronx were for many years the warm up's to USOQ.

Is this another example of Andy trying to prop up Jamie's doubles ranking?

Almost certainly furious. I would rather he concentrated on singles.

Could also be trying to get in some more early matches. I know that none of the big ones is playing the US hardcourt tournaments before the Masters ... but it does feel risky! The odd extra match could be quite helpful.

Probably a total red herring but I was just wondering what the rules are for playing doubles in the Olympics? Can a country be represented by more than one team? I expect Andy and Jamie would like another shot at this so presumably Jamie needs to make sure his ranking is sufficient to be considered above other GB players.

Going by a tweet this afternoon Broady might be heading out to Turkey for next weeks futures where he will have no problem getting into the qualifiers.

EDIT: Forget that, in a more recent tweet he says he isn't going.

These three have all since withdrawn, though Amanda Carreras, Lucy Brown and Alexandra Walker are all on the main draw list in Spain and Natasha Starling is on the qualifying list.

A real pity so many of the GB men are taking the week off (if understandable given the recent spate of tournaments in the UK) - there are no less than 18 Futures on next week, 12 of them in Europe, so most of them are relatively weak and easy to get into.
