R32: Alex Bogdanovic WR 403 v (2/WC) Donald Young (USA) WR 113
Dear B_i_B, there's no need to state the obvious.
Thank you.
It took me a minute to work that out! I don't think he gets quite as many as he used to get but I would imagine he is right up there for all time wildcard handouts, interesting to know the answer to that one.....Steven?

You called? This is his first WC since last year's US Open, and obviously he has got this one because he only decided to enter after entries closed rather than because he was not ranked high enough to get in directly.
I think he must hold the record, at least for a player of his age at Challenger level and above. Including this WC, he has had 63 singles WCs at senior level - 56 into main draws and 7 into qualifying:
4 into the USO (+1 QWC) 8 into Masters Series events (+3 QWC) 15 into other main tour events (+ 1 QWC) --- 27 MDWCs + 5 QWCs into main tour events & slams in total
22 into Challengers (+ 1 QWC) 7 into Futures (+1 QWC)
For comparison, Boggo has had 40 WCs at senior level, 35 MDWCs + 5 QWCs made up as follows:
8 into Wimbledon (+1 QWC) 8 into other main tour events -- 16 MDWCs + 1 QWC into main tour events and slams in total
10 into Challengers 9 into Futures (+ 4 QWCs)

He moves back into the top 400 tomorrow due to getting 12 points for coming through Newport qualifying but he has 17 points to defend this week so if he loses to Young he will be outside the top 400 again. After that he has nothing to defend until Eckental (32 points) in November so has a good chance to start moving upwards again.
Judging from MTF, there is live streaming here (but not very good quality) and Boggo/Young were seen to take to the court but there's no evidence they actually played any games.

I've never rated Young and since he was really bigged up to be the next thing in USA he seems to have gotten worse in my opinion. Wouldn't be surprised to see boggo win this one or at least push him to 3

I really think folk have to separate off here the early hype about Young, the obvious yearning in the USA that he would really make it, and the raft of WCs he used to get. I remember making a bit of fun of him in years past as he'd be WC'd into such as a Masters, while still lowly ranked, and get thumped. It did get in my view ( and I think many others ) a bit ridiculous.
Since all the initail hype he clearly did get better, he is better now, look at his results, look at his rankings. Clearly he has not got to where many folk wanted, but he's a decent pro.
The fact is that Donald Young is ranked WR 105 through no accident. He got himself into the top 100 towards the end of 2007, has spent quite a number of weeks inside the top 100 ( CH 73 in 2008 ) although more 100 - 200 and only very briefly since outside the top 200.
As I said he hasn't become the player folk wanted, but he has basically become a very sold pro, much more so than Boggo. He has had consistently better results than Boggo, he has been consistently much higher ranked than Boggo ( yes, an injury free Boggo ), The evidence is really that he is a quite a bit better player than Boggo, and should rightfully be strong favourite for this match.
Let's not patronise or underestimate him due to past hype or WC nonsense, I sense some see him as some joke and / or very overranked figure, which he certainly is not.
We are where we are. I'd expect Young to be winning this in straight sets. Would be great, of course, if Boggo did turn him over and that would represent an extremely good result.
