Week 23 - ATP 250 - AEGON Championships, Queen's Club - doubles

Just in case the doubles prove to have more "legs" than the singles, though a lot hinges on whether Andy declares himself fit, of course...:

R1:  Xavier Malisse (BEL) & Ken Skupski vs Andy Murray & Jamie Murray!

R1:  (WC) Colin Fleming & Ross Hutchins vs Igor Kunitsyn & Ivan Ljubicic (RUS/CRO)

*  Nice to see the WC for Col & Ross. smile

And they take the second set by 6-4 to wrap up the match in just shy of 55 minutes!

R1:  Xavier Malisse (BEL) & Ken Skupski  beat  Andy Murray & Jamie Murray   6 - 3   6 - 4

Couldn't make up my mind what face or faces to put after that.

I guess though after earlier reports today that Andy might have done something more to his ankle when he seemed to maybe have an issue and stop practice early, it looks as if all is OK  smile

R2:  Xavier Malisse (BEL) & Ken Skupski vs (5) Oliver Marach & Marcin Matkowski (*) (AUT/POL) bleh

R2:  (WC) Colin Fleming & Ross Hutchins vs (3) Mahesh Bhupathi & Leander Paes (IND/IND) bleh  bleh

(*)  Have "the bloody Poles" split up, does anyone know, or is Matkowski's usual partner in crime, Mariusz Fyrstenberg, injured?   Can't see his name with another partner in this draw.

Skups & "the X Man" had a go but eventually lost out to the fifth seeds by 5 & 3. cry  Bang goes the last of the Brit interest in the doubles. hmm
