Has to go down as a title chance for Chris here, I don't recognize any of the seeds as big names so really a missed opportunity if he cant go deep into the draw Eaton and Bradshaw also form the 2nd seeds in the dubs so a good chance for them to do something there. Baxendine is also in the dubs draw with an american partner

I agree, a great bit of tournament selection. He's still got to win 5 matches though, it won't be easy!

David gains his first ATP point since last October (when he qualified and reached R2 at two Venezuelan Futures) but faces a much tougher challenge in R2.
L32: (Q) David Baxendine WR 1350 beat (WC) Adrian Rafael Fernandez Contreras (MEX) UNR by 5 & 3
L16: (Q) David Baxendine WR 1350 v (8) Jimmy Wang (TPE) WR 609
Also known as Wang Yeu-tzuoo, David's next opponent was once in the top 100 (reaching a career high of 85 in 2006) and has a 1-1 H2H against Andy Murray, Muzz having lost to him 3-2 ret at the Surbiton Challenger in 2004 before beating him 4 & 2 on his way to the San Jose title in 2006, Wang having taken out James Blake in R1 at that event. Wang is also the player Boggo beat 6-7(7) 6-4 6-4 in R1 in Bangkok in 2006 to set up his R2 meeting with Tim Henman. Wang reached R2 at Wimbledon twice (2006/7) and once played Federer at the US Open, winning 5 games.
The reason he is ranked so low now is that he didn't win a match between Nov 2007 and Sep 2008 (0-8), then didn't play on the circuit at all for two years, apart from turning out for Taiwan in DC against Kazakhstan in Feb 2009, where he upset both Golubev and Kukushkin. Since late 2010, he has been playing one or two tournaments at once and slowly working his way back up.

Spud, sadly, if understandably, was being a trifle over-optimistic & arguably underestimating Tim's & Chris's opponents, despite the clear ranking disparity:
R1: James Ludlow & Scott Robertson (USA)/AUS) UNR defeated David Baxendine & Harris Trismen (USA) UNR by 4-6 6-1 [10-4]
R1: Adam El Mihdawy & Jimmy Wang (USA/TPE) WR 1750 defeated (2) Tim Bradshaw & Chris Eaton WR 1013 by 6-4 6-7(5) [10-6]
Moore dropped 117 rankings places for this week and is now ranked WR 840, good chance for Chris to reach the quarter's. Hopefully Baxy wins too then we'll have a all-Brit QF
Yes, certainly do hope it's nothing serious for Chris.
He is down for another Mexico 15K next week and also with the grass court season fast approaching this is his chance to get his ranking really up, especially with nothing to defend until August and actually only 16 points to defend the whole of the rest of the year.
