tough one for Boggo, but in some ways playing against a higher opposition may not be a bad thing.

Matt & Andrew are obviously gluttons for punishment, with the latter having the easier draw - on the face of it ( wink ):

R1: Blake Strode & Christian Welte (USA/USA) WR 1363 vs Matt Short & Ty Trombetta (USA) WR 2544

Hurray!
Great to see him winning a final set tie break, especially against a washed up Aussie!
Well done Boggo.

Wonderful to see the Bogster grind out a 3rd set tiebreak win having had his first set lead wiped out - in the bad old days, that used to cue a collapse. McClune has a CH of 267 so won't be a pushover.

Yes, since the start of 2011 - he plays DC for them and in return got a QWC for Auckland ATP.

great win for alex, his 1st top 200 scalp of the year? good to come through in a 3rd set TB as well after his last two loses in deciders.

of course really he's got to look to back it up this week and try and push deeper than the QF's as the returns are non existent.

Boggo must've worn Ball out! wink  Either that, or he or Gucci picked up an injury:  they were the top seeds in the doubles, but their place yesterday was taken by an unranked pair of alternates, who promptly lost to a lowly ranked American pair!
