Week 8 - Challenger- Wolfsburg, Germany $30k (Hard)

Baker turns up in qualifying here and arguably has the best section of the draw with 4th seed & 7th seed in his path to qualifying. Eaton didn't make the cut in a relatively high cut for a 30k challenger (492)

[4] Gianluca NASO (ITA) WR 288 vs Adrien BOSSEL (SUI) WR 362
Alexandre FOLIE (BEL) WR 472 vs Hans PODLIPNIK-CASTILLO (CHI) WR 492
Alexander SADECKY (SUI) WR 357 vs Ervin ELESKOVIC (SWE) WR 370
Jamie BAKER (GBR) WR 400 vs [7] Farrukh DUSTOV (UZB) WR 302

Whether he makes the most of it however is a different matter....

He didn't. Ypu're right. I wonder why I thought that? Maybr I'm confusing him with Sakharov but even then Jamie beat him.

Sorry for the misinformationall smile.gif

Farrukh's sake! Jamie loses 6-3 7-6(5). JB saved 2 match points on FD'a serve and then lost his for a mini break to concede the match. It seems the match was decided by the serve. FD - 13 aces compared to 5 from JB. 0 double faults compared to 8 from JB.

Oh well, time to Dustov and start again.

Hmm, guess it doesn't look too bad,  and not looking too bad might be good enough at the moment for a Davis Cup place  hmm.gif

Didn't think Jamie though usually suffered from such doublefaultitis.

Delgo & Marray 2nd seeds here. They play the Russian pair Elgin & Kudryavtsev in round 1.

Not a good day for them, as they've just lost by 2 & 4. bleh  That said, the pesky Russkies were always going to be a tough nut to crack!
