Week 6 - Challenger (€42,500+H) - Bergamo, Italy (hard)

Colin Fleming has popped up here in harness with one of Delgo's many former partners, the Croat, Lovro Zovko.  They are the top seeds.  In the other section of their half of the draw is Colin's former partner, Ken Skupski, in tandem with the Danish serial Brit-basher, Freddie Nielsen! disbelief

R1:  (1) Colin Fleming & Lovro Zovko (CRO) vs Martin Fischer & Philipp Oswald (AUT/AUT)

R1:  Frederik Nielsen (DEN) & Ken Skupski vs Thomas Fabiano & Izak van der Merwe (ITA/RSA)

*  Anyone know what's happened to Hutch? confuse Is he injured?

It isn't good news. They couldn't save a 3rd match point.

If Ken & Freddie manage to get past Fabbiano & van der Merwe tomorrow, they won't have to worry about having to face the Ratis in the QF:  they've just been beaten by the local WCs, Brizzi & Volante, in two TBs! wink

First set in the bag for Freddie & Ken by 6-3, so on course for an SF encounter with Colin's & Lovro's conquerors, Fischer & Oswald. smile

Final:

Frederik Nielsen (DEN) & Ken Skupski vs Michal Elgin & Alexander Kudryavtsev (RUS/RUS)

Those pesky Russkies are going to be no pushover... pray.gif  Didn't Colin & Ross beat them in the final in the Astana Challenger towards the end of last year?  Maybe Ken should ask Colin for a bit of inside info... wink
