L32: Elena Baltacha WR 55 v Tamarine Tanasugarn (THA) WR 62 (CH 19 in 2002)

There are very few easy draws at this level, but I imagine Elena would happily have taken this one before the draw was made, though I don't know who the winner would meet in R2 yet. They have played twice before, both times in the UK on grass - elena won 4 & 5 at Eastbourne in 2004 and Tanasugarn got revenge at Surbiton in 2008 by 6 & 1.

Ominously, the former world no. 19 does seem to be waking up now - more pressure in Bally's last service game and now 40-0 on the Thai serve. Eventually holds to 30 ... *4-1

40-15 (I think) pegged back to deuce again ... then a looooong delay, though it could just be the scoreboard being slow, hopefully.

Elena is only getting 32% of her first serves in btw, but that doesn't seem to be have hampered her much so far.
