Very harsh of the LTA not to give Sam a MD WC (not sure if SE would apply?), AND she's got one of the worst possible draws - we know Bowtell is a danger.

Predictably, Sam lost to Amy Bowtell in 3. Surely fatigue must've played a part, really not fair when WCs went to some poor performers - surely hold one back for these circumstances??

Very tough on Sam, I agree with jb about that one.

Yes, tough for Samantha.  I'm not sure about holding back WCs, I would have thought whenever they were announced she already looked someone maybe worth giving one to.

Pity for Jennifer Ren having to pull out when looking in good control of her match.

But nice anyway to see Natasha Khan back and winning.

No Mandy E, what a shame. Georges will hopefully be a good test for Fitzy in the QFs; slightly worried about Smith v Bowtell in L16...

Can't beat 4 semi finalists   smile    I think the third quarter may be a problem.

Not as concerned though as jb288 re possible Smith vs Bowtell meeting.

Yep you're right 3rd quarter could be a problem, thought Webbers was in that section, need Jenny Allan to come to my rescue.

Since Allan hasn't actually beaten a ranked player since May, it seems unlikely...hope she can do it tho!
