Week 42 - Futures F1 ($15K+H) - Lagos, Nigeria - Hard

L32: Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 1095 v (5) Karan Rastogi (IND) WR 447

Not the best draw Fitzy could have hoped for. Rastogi actually played Roehampton a couple of months ago, beating Edward Corrie 6 & 4 then later losing 0 & 5 to Josh Milton in the semis. He also has a 2-0 record against Jamie Delgado but fairly predictable results against various Brits otherwise.

Tough draw, but when they are, presents an opportunity for a career best win!

Fitzy! I was just thinking recently I hadn't seen you post for some time. Nice to hear from you.

Good luck Fitzy. What shape are the courts in over there? I was reading that a recent African futures tournament on clay had chalk lines that had to be continually painted back on.

Hey guys I haven't been in here for a while I know.
The courts out here are fine, they were painting on centre Court when I arrived. Not sure it's official size!
But I requsted to stay away from it, so I've got court 2 tomorrow.
Just lost doubles 75 62. My partner had an absolute horror. I always seem to get stuck with the partner who can't find someone. Or like last person free. Quite annoying. Played practise sets against rastogi few days ago and was feeling good.
So see how it goes tomorrow. It's really really hot here and I'll be on around 1130 tomorrow so will need to be prepared for it!

Every local Nigerian player is serve and volleying. Some are pretty good at it, some not. All of them are awkward.

Lost 63 61. Long ralleys that ended with me missing by small margins.
Serve was the main thing again. Kept missing moat first serves on the tape. Pretty annoying. Given that I had so many break points. More mental that anything else. That's the problem

Good to see you again. Sorry to hear about the result, but you do seem to have made a bit of progress - so close to getting your ranking into 3 figures a few weeks back and even now you're only 2 or 3 points away with nothing to defend until next July.
