Fitzy is on quite a roll at the moment - up 101 places today and he's beaten a top 1000 player too
FQR: (q12) Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 1253 beat (q1) Mark Vervoort (NED) WR 904 by 3 & 3
L32: Morgan Phillips WR 506 v (Q) Ivan Arenas-Gualda (ESP) UNR L32: (Q) Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 1152 v (Q) Igor Bujdo (POL) WR 834
That said, Fitzy's 19-y-o opponent rose 263 places today after reaching the semis in Mostoles, beating Marti (yes, the same Marti who lost the Final to Morgan yesterday) in the QFs before going out to Gadomski (who eventually lost ot Mrogan in the semis) in R2 last week in a match of three tiebreaks. He's also the guy who beat Andrew Gregory 7-5 in the 3rd in Olsztyn last month.
Morgan beat his opponent 2 & 4 in R1 last week, so he'll be hoping for a similar result and a similar week!

The defeats in Porto yesterday that we have just found out about mean that Morgan is the only Brit to pick up an ATP singles point this week. (i.e. embarrassed for the rest, not for Morgan!)

It's just a very quiet week with a few tough draws for these that played. As far as I can see of the completed matches for the top 25 anyway only Wardinator has lost to a lower ranked player.
Extremely low on the embarassing scale in the grand history of British tennis, in fact don't think it even gets on
